Have you ever asked a supplier a simple question only to be met with a load of words that don’t make sense? 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think we are all guilty of adopting jargon in how we speak, whatever industry we work in.🤷🏻‍♀️

I have noticed myself that, at times, I’m guilty of using industry terms ( like those listed below) when talking to valued customers.

➡️ Thermoforming- heat treating to achieve curves.

➡️ Ladder substrate- this means a support frame made of mdf which looks like a ladder

➡️Coved upstands – this means where the material is shaped to curve upwards into a wall

➡️Downstands – this is the edge of the counter top/ reception desk etc

➡️Ex works – this means collected from our premises

So we are working to simplify our language by reducing the amount of jargon we use, (or at least explain it better), to try to make our valued customers have as smooth an experience as possible!

If you don’t understand what is being offered to you, either by us, or any other supplier for whatever it might be, don’t be scared to ask for clarification!

We are here to help, look forward to having a non jargon filled chat with you! Nicola xx
