DuPont, invented solid surface and named their product Corian, it is without doubt that Corian is the market leader with respect to product identity, today with many other exceedingly good solid surface products, they are referred to generically as Corian, whereas the prospective client is referring to the product solid surfacing and knows not how to describe it other than to refer to Corian, it is like, asking for Formica, when in fact you require Laminate, or Hoover, when you actually require a vacuum.

Durat is a polyester based material with an exciting range of Vivid colours, the material represents the finish and look of Terrazzo, whilst being relatively light and can be inconspicuously seamed, the product is manufactured in Finland and is stated to be made from 100% recyclable material, this is also true of the majority of available solid surface products.
Durat can be manufactured into exciting seamless monolithic shapes, it does not however thermo form easily or to any small radii.

Hi Macs has fire and marine certification to class "O". This classification makes it a most suitable product for public areas where fire security is paramount.
Staron is an Acrylic based material with an offering almost identical to that of Corian, have a slight variation of colours, the material, like many of its competitors offers fabrication properties to satisfy most of the market needs, it has been used for the fabrication counter tops, vanity tops, shower trays, it can be manufactured into almost any shape.

Velstone is a polyester base material, having a Class "O" fire rating, it has been used widely in Prison Cells, areas of high security, mental institutions, Marine, Airports and areas of high public concentration, the material has limited thermoform ability.
